Sophie - my 3 (almost 4) year old - performed in her very first dance recital last Saturday. I'll be honest, I was a little nervous for her, but she did wonderfully. I was so very proud. Here are a few pre-recital images of Sophie in her costume. She danced both tap and ballet, and she had such a great time. She's already looking forward to classes starting again in September..... I think we definitely have a dancer on our hands!!

Sophie and Graham! {Novi, MI Children's photographer}
In the midst of this busy fall season, I put together two distinct photo "sessions" with my own children to document Sophie's 3rd birthday and Graham's 6 month "birthday" in September. For Sophie, I envisioned a fun session in the apple orchard while we picked and plucked apples from the trees. Surprisingly, she wasn't that interested in picking apples, more just in eating the apples....and the promise of cider and doughnuts after we were done. For Graham I did a session with abandoned train tracks complete with an engine and old luggage. Lucky for me, he was the perfect 6-month old model -- smiley and sitting relatively still! Here's a peek at these two sessions.
If you are interested in customizing a session to a location, such as these, let me know. I love to create unique photos and memorable sessions!
3 Months Old! {Northville, MI children's portrait photographer}
My little guy is 3 months old! I can't believe it! We took some time to do a "3-month session" on Friday. He really enjoys being outside, so we found some nice shade in our backyard and went to work. Proof that outdoor baby sessions can be wonderfully vibrant and colorful.
I love this expression - the little smirk and sideways gaze.
I'm pretty happy with how this detail shot came out -- tiny toes reflected in the bin. And, could these linen pants from BabyGap be any cuter?
Hello big blue eyes!
New Facebook Page!
So, I finally took the plunge and created a Facebook page for Christine Long Photography. I'm not much of a Facebook user, but I'm definitely looking forward to sharing more of my photography through FB. Click here to get to my page!
And, because no post is complete without photos, here are a couple of my two cuties from last week. We were enjoying the sun and warmth in our backyard!
