Glimpses: Week 12

We were blessed with some amazing weather this past week - warm and sunny....just perfect for enjoying long afternoons outside!  Sophie especially loved playing on our swing set.  For the first time, everything just clicked as she kept propelling herself higher and higher.  She's now a swinging machine and has enjoyed hours upon hours "up in the sky."  Here are a few captures of her mastering the swing last week!

Claire's Baptism: Part I {Northville, Michigan, Novi, MI Portrait Photographer}

I'll be honest - the last 10 days have been a whirlwind of party planning and activity that has completely pushed me to my limits.  There is a reason I am a photographer and not a party planner!!!  It all started with Claire's baptism last weekend and continued through for Graham's second birthday yesterday!  Yes, we've been busy (not to mention the unexpected assignment of healthy snacks for 26 preschoolers for 5 days last week)!   But, please bear with me as I show off my kids and their special March milestones!

Our precious baby girl was baptized last Sunday, and we celebrated this special event with a lovely luncheon with our family and friends!  I couldn't wait to share a few sneak peeks into our special Sunday.  There will be more portraits of Claire coming soon and detail shots of her beautiful Christening gown.  But, in the meantime, here's our sweet little peanut and some of the delicious food we enjoyed :)

Glimpses: Week 9

This past week Grandma and Grandpa came from Texas to help celebrate Claire's baptism!  During our lazy Friday morning, I managed to capture this - Graham and Grandpa on their computers!  I just love it :)  More of Claire's baptism to come soon....

Glimpses: Week 8

We finally got a little snow this week, and I just love the reflected light that comes in our back door when there is snow on the ground!  Graham pretty much wanted to wear his snow pants all afternoon, and he looked too adorable coloring with his window markers in this get up.  I couldn't resist capturing this moment from both inside and outside!

Cousins! {Northville, MI, Novi, MI, Farmington Hills, MI Newborn and Family Photographer}

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful group of cousins.  They were in town to visit their newborn cousin (Baby M) and grandparents!  This lively group was so much fun, and, might I add, perfectly dressed.  They definitely look like they walked right out of a Baby Gap ad, and I adore the beautiful spring colors!  I hope you enjoy the sneak peek!
We were also able to squeeze in a few photographs of Baby M, all by herself.  So sweet....

Chic Critique Forum Cover Contest {Metro Detroit Family Photographer}

Chic Critique Forum (the forum that hosts the Glimpses Project that is keeping me motivated to photograph my family life) is hosting a cover contest for their first magazine.    The theme for the magazine is: Launch | to release, catapult, or send off. | To put into operation or set in motion. | To enter energetically. | To spring forward: take off.

So, I took a look through my session photographs from 2011, and I'm submitting the image below!   I love the energy and sense of "release" in the moment!

Glimpses: Week 6

This week Sophie started taking swim classes again, after taking about 2 years off.  What can I say, we've had two babies in those 2 years and Sophie's swimming curriculum was thoroughly neglected!  Needless to say, she performed better than I expected during her class this week.  I couldn't believe that she willingly went underwater with no signs of tears....I'm so proud of my baby girl, who is clearly no longer a baby!
