Glimpses: Week 27
Photos from a day at the beach last week! I'm absolutely in love with the first image - my son's curls, his insanely thick and long eye lashes (why do boys always have the best lashes?) and the smile of pure joy on his face. All with the sunlight reflecting and shimmering in the water.... Swoon. Sometimes, I just wish I could stop time and live in these moments just a little bit longer!
And a color image of my beach baby for good measure. Her eyes are too big and blue to not show in color!

What to Wear - July {Novi, Northville Portrait Photographer}
Wow! It's been a really long time since I posted any what to wear inspiration on the blog. So, here goes -- a couple of ideas for families and girls! I'm loving the different tones of pinks and corals and the mixing of patterns! This type of color and pattern layering within the family will really make your photos pop!

Glimpses: Week 25
Last weekend Sophie performed in her second dance recital! She had so much fun and is already talking about taking dance classes next year! On the evening after her recital, we took the kids to a local carnival for even more excitement and fun. It was such a wonderful summer day, and I especially love the photos of the kids at the carnival :)
Some post-recital dancing on the deck in the backyard. Glass doors make a great "mirror"!

Fun at the spray park!! Love Sophie's reaction and the amazing shapes of the water sprays (especially in the first picture)! Such a fun way to spend a summer afternoon :)

Glimpses: Week 22
I'm quite a bit late in posting this Glimpses post, but here we go.... for the long Memorial Day weekend, we traveled to North Carolina to meet up with my mom's family and celebrate my grandmother's 90th birthday!! Before the big family get-together, we were able to take our kids over to my grandma's and share some very special time together. This was the very first time Claire met her great-grandma, and I'm so excited to share a few of the photographs of our time together. I especially love this first one!
And Sophie had a secret to share with great grandma....love the reaction from my grandma (and my mom too)!

Glimpses: Week 19
A glimpse into Claire's new milestone -- solid food! We've been trying lots of homemade baby foods and here's a photo of Claire's reaction to avocado. So far, I think her favorite has been butternut squash.
Can I just add, it's really hard to hold heavy camera and take a photo while also trying to balance food and get it into her tiny little mouth...lol!

Energetic Boys!
Last weekend, I was lucky to spend some time with this beautiful and very energetic family! I'm excited to share just a few - and believe me, it was hard to narrow these down! I can't wait to show you many more during your Session Premiere!!
We were even able to sneak in a few images of Mom and Dad together....I just love the sincerity of these next two moments....

Sophie loves (and I really do mean 'loves') to dance! She especially enjoys it when she has an audience. And what better audience than a immobile but very alert 5 month old? I love this sweet capture of two sisters at the end of a performance!

Glimpses: Week 15
Guess where my sweet husband took me for our 5 year wedding anniversary last weekend? That's right - Chicago! Since I'm still nursing, we traveled with just the baby, while the other two stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. It was such a treat for all of us! We had a great trip and Claire was the perfect traveling companion. I can't believe we've already been married 5 years (and had 3 babies in that time)! Here's to many more years together :)
I just love this picture of Allen and Claire together looking at their reflection in Cloud Gate!
And, because I, very rarely, am ever in front of the camera, I just can't resist sharing this snapshot of me and my littlest!

Glimpses: Week 14
Potty training has started for this little one. This picture is from our first day's attempt at potty training. I showed him all of his Cars-themed undies, and he was so excited. So excited that he decided he needed to wear all 7 pairs on his legs while sitting on the potty! I love his expression here as he tries to close the door on me... clearly this one wants his privacy!!

Glimpses: Week 12
We were blessed with some amazing weather this past week - warm and sunny....just perfect for enjoying long afternoons outside! Sophie especially loved playing on our swing set. For the first time, everything just clicked as she kept propelling herself higher and higher. She's now a swinging machine and has enjoyed hours upon hours "up in the sky." Here are a few captures of her mastering the swing last week!

Claire's Baptism: Part I {Northville, Michigan, Novi, MI Portrait Photographer}
I'll be honest - the last 10 days have been a whirlwind of party planning and activity that has completely pushed me to my limits. There is a reason I am a photographer and not a party planner!!! It all started with Claire's baptism last weekend and continued through for Graham's second birthday yesterday! Yes, we've been busy (not to mention the unexpected assignment of healthy snacks for 26 preschoolers for 5 days last week)! But, please bear with me as I show off my kids and their special March milestones!
Our precious baby girl was baptized last Sunday, and we celebrated this special event with a lovely luncheon with our family and friends! I couldn't wait to share a few sneak peeks into our special Sunday. There will be more portraits of Claire coming soon and detail shots of her beautiful Christening gown. But, in the meantime, here's our sweet little peanut and some of the delicious food we enjoyed :)

This past week Grandma and Grandpa came from Texas to help celebrate Claire's baptism! During our lazy Friday morning, I managed to capture this - Graham and Grandpa on their computers! I just love it :) More of Claire's baptism to come soon....
